——淮海郭氏网开篇
郭姓在中华民族姓氏大家庭中是一个古老的姓氏，最早源于居住地，即外城为郭。有史记载夏代（四千多年前）有郭支，商代有郭崇。郭姓与所有旺族发展的过程大致相同，与统治者姓氏相关，周武王时曾封文王弟为虢国君主，古代“虢”“郭”相通，以虢为姓，郭氏兴旺，后虽虢国被晋国所灭，但是虢国后代均以郭为姓。当然后来几经改朝换代，沧海桑田，民族融合，改姓、归姓、冒姓郭氏的不乏其人。不过一笔无二郭，总归同字、同音、同姓、同宗已成不争事实。
